Material mainly relates to Yates’s tenures as governor and U.S. Senator, with a few pre-Civil War business papers. Also includes biographies of Yates written by Richard Yates Jr. and Winfred A. Harbison, as well as a little undated post-Civil War correspondence from Dorothea Dix.
