And I have been induced to believe that they can be made avalible as Solders. K. 59 Regt Indiana Vol. who called upon me to day for assistance in reference to procuring his discharge He represents to me that he has been in Hospital 8 months 4 months of that time here. that he suffered first from Camp diarrhea continuing at long time and ending in Dysentery He also has a crippled foot which gives him a good deal of trouble He says he has tried in vain to procure an examination from the Surgeon in Charge to see whether or not his discharge was necessary <hr /> the surgeon always refusing He represents that he is getting no better but rather growing weaker and would like to have something done in reference to his case and if legally entitled to do it receive his discharge that he may go home to his family By his request I have written this statement and he deserves to know. if you can do anything by which justice may be done equally to himself and the government whose servant he is Please answer as soon as convenient.
