&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Capt Fullerton's company arrived here this morning at eleven oclock A. M.  His horses and men are greatly fatigued with the excessively hot weather in a two days and half's ride.
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Many of the men understanding that they were to be supplied with cavalry saddles at the point of rendezvous came on old and worn out saddles which have badly injured the backs of the horses.  Some of the men came without any saddles at all and the result is that the backs of their horses are more galled than any of the others.  A good many are not shod and so taking the whole matter together I am satisfied
&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;hr /&gt;
&lt;p&gt;that the men and horses are in a poor traveling condition.
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The Captain thinks it nearly impossible for him to take his men by any other means than by rail and I join him in making an earnest request for permission to send them by Railroad.
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;There will be no other company here after this one.
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Capt Bowman goes by horses and will start in about an hour
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;We will expect a dispatch this evening in reference to Capt Fullerton's Company.
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Both companies contain very superior men and horses
