He had been to Iowa to try to learn the fate of his children and comes back impressed with the belief that they have all been murdered by the man Williams who with his son a youth of 17.

He learned that they had gone to Idaho, and he thought that if I would write to you that you could communicate his story to the Governor of Colorado, Idaho, Nevada &amp;amp; Montana and join in a general effort to hunt this man Williams around the world.
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I have written General Fiske at St Joseph desiring him to communicate with military commanders throughout the country West of him. and as I promised the soldier, Governor, I send you this. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I received yours of the 19th Containing $2.00 informing me that you had sent one to me by mistake (Containing $5) to Louisville There happened to be some officers in my tent from Louisville and I wrote a note by them to be droped in the office for the Steward of Hosp No 4 requesting him to forward me the afforesaid letter. I think I will get it soon. I am quite sick. I was taken the day I wrote you with a severe chill and fever, in the night an inflimation of the liver and kidneys causing 
&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;hr /&gt; 
&lt;p&gt;the most intence pain lasting some 48 hours. I could rest in no position. The Dr gave me blue mass which relieved me to some extent. I have been taking medicine occasionally ever since, I was taken. I am taking a pill every 4 hours to day my liver is as dead as a piece of soleather the doctor says.  I don't like the Dr he seams to be to dilitery, Old and neglectfull of his duties, wish I had Dr. Simpson with me a while, I am not in much pain now, think I will get better soon.
&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;My wound is healing fast and will soon be well if nothing should

&lt;p&gt;prevent. There was a lot of Ills soldiers sent to their own state yesterday. their names wer taken about a week before I came. I could not get my name on the list as the had got transportation only for those whos names had been taken, I don't know whether I will get home or not. If I could get a special order from Gov Yates to transfer me to Camp Butler I would be all right, I would soon be at home and could get along much better. I am quite weak and sick, the medicine I am taking makes me sicker than I would be to day

&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I received yours of the 19th Containing $2.00 informing me that you had sent one to me by mistake (Containing $5) to Louisville There happened to be some officers in my tent from Louisville and I wrote a note by them to be droped in the office for the Steward of Hosp No 4 requesting him to forward me the afforesaid letter. I think I will get it soon. I am quite sick. I was taken the day I wrote you with a severe chill and fever, in the night an inflimation of the liver and kidneys causing

&lt;p&gt;the most intence pain lasting some 48 hours. I could rest in no position. The Dr gave me blue mass which relieved me to some extent. I have been taking medicine occasionally ever since, I was taken. I am taking a pill every 4 hours to day my liver is as dead as a piece of soleather the doctor says.  I don't like the Dr he seams to be to dilitery, Old and neglectfull of his duties, wish I had Dr. Simpson with me a while, I am not in much pain now, think I will get better soon.

&lt;p&gt;prevent. There was a lot of Ills soldiers sent to their own state yesterday. their names wer taken about a week before I came. I could not get my name on the list as the had got transportation only for those whos names had been taken, I don't know whether I will get home or not. If I could get a special order from Gov Yates to transfer me to Camp Butler I would be all right, I would soon be at home and could get along much better. I am quite weak and sick, the medicine I am taking makes me sicker than I would be to day
