Burroughs, a new company of sharpshooters might be raised, has been already once arrested as a deserter. I thereupon procured a discharged from Gen Tyler & obtained his release. Now the Lt. who was left says Gen. Tyler had no right to discharge him & he shall take & send him to his Regt. Can you not in some of the many ways open to you, my Dr Sir, secure him from this annoyance? Through our kind friend Mr Chatterton we have sought for him a commission as 2d Lt. After the death of Mrs Sullivan, the two daughters died before attaining their majority, and the only heirs now to the estate are Elizabeth Morey and Margaret Eastwood the sisters of Wm Sullivan as they claim. I wish to ascertain all I can in regard to the title of the property and particularly as to the claim of the said Elizabeth Morey and Margaret Eastwood.
